Java 7 update 17 is the latest version. Java 6 update 43 exists, but most of you have probably been auto updated to version 7. If you uninstalled Java and don't think you need it, great! If you blocked it in your browsers, and you use Internet Explorer, be sure that it is really blocked. It seems that it doesn't always get blocked, even if you do it right. If you want the latest update, follow the instructions below or call me.
If you are running a 64-bit Windows version, auto updates are probably not working right! Please make sure to manually update both the 32-bit & 64-bit Java.

You can use http://singularlabs.com/kb/completely-remove-java-using-singularlabs-javara/ to completely remove Java from your machine.

Mac users: See the note: Java on Macs at http://javatester.org/version.html. Also see: Can I restore Apple Java 6 after uninstalling Oracle Java 7?

Simple instructions for latest update (Windows):
1) Go to http://javatester.org/
If you have no Java you are safe. If you show Java 6 update 35 you appear to be safe for now.
If you have a 64-bit operating system, and run 32-bit & 64-bit browsers, check both. If you are "safe" stop.

2) Download version 6 here: http://java.com/en/download/manual_v6.jsp. Get the offline (full) version. Or version 7 here http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

3) If you are using both 32-bit and 64-bit browsers, download both, and remember where you saved them! Hint, if you access http://java.com/en/download/manual_v6.jsp with a 64-bit browser it will offer you the 64-bit Java download (jre-6u35-windows-x64). Otherwise only the 32-bit (jre-6u35-windows-i586) offline will show.

4) Go to Control Panel

Windows XP:
Add or Remove Programs
5) Uninstall all versions of Java that you find here!

6) Reboot your machine!

7) Go to where you saved the Java jre-6u35-windows-i586.exe file in step 3.

8) Run it.

9) Return to
http://javatester.org/ and check again. Also check at http://isjavaexploitable.com/.

Windows Vista and Windows 7: if 64-bit you need both 32 & 64 bit Java-download both & remember where they are! Remember to get version 6 at http://java.com/en/download/manual_v6.jsp, not version 7.
A good explanation 32 & 64 bit: http://java.com/en/download/faq/java_win64bit.xml

4) Control Panel

5) Programs-Uninstall a program

6) Remove all versions of Java (if 64 bit you should see 32-bit and 64-bit versions here)

7) Reboot your machine!

8) Go to where you saved the Java versions needed. If 64 bit, run both files.

9) 9) Return to
http://javatester.org/ and check again. Also check at http://isjavaexploitable.com/.

Note: If any of the already installed Java versions refuse to uninstall (fatal error), call me:
